Renew for 2012! 

You can now renew your 2012 Fox Valley SHRM membership.  All memberships will expire February 29th, 2012.  Please click here or the Renew Membership link from the maroon toolbar at the top of the page. 

In an effort to clean up our membership information during the website revision, if you were a past member but were not an active member in 2011, please take some time to complete a Member Application with your current information for approval and renewal. 

Cost of 2012 Membership Renewal

Professional & Transitional - $55

Associate - $105

- If you are a national SHRM member, you will receive a $25 discount on your annual dues.  Please note that you must have your national member number entered under your membership profile prior to clicking one of the pay options in order to receive the discount.  To do this, scroll to the bottom of your member profile and click Edit.  You may have to enter your log in information again to confirm the change. 
- You will have the option to Print Invoice and send in payment or Pay by Paypal.  

This is also a good time to update information in your profile.  You can do this by scrolling to the bottom of your profile and clicking the Edit button.

The February Fox Valley SHRM Labor Law Update will offer program attendees insight into the current and upcoming workplace legislative issues. 
 
The Labor Law event is the ideal forum to learn, discuss, and network with your fellow HR professionals as we continue to see an enormous amount of activity on Capitol Hill. 2012 is sure to be an exciting year, filled with new public policy that has the potential to impact many of the day-to-day tasks for HR professionals.

FOX VALLEY SHRM WINS 2011 ENTERPRISING LEADERSHIP AWARD - Friday, January 20, 2012
WI SHRM STATE COUNCIL ANNOUNCES
2011 ENTERPRISING LEADERSHIP AWARD WINNERS
 
We are pleased to announce that this year, the Enterprising Leadership Grant is being awarded to two WI SHRM Chapters: SHRM Fox Valley Chapter and the Green Bay Area Chapter SHRM. The $4,000 grant will be divided between the two chapters, each receiving $2,000 to fund their worthy endeavors. The award was presented to each chapter at the December State Council Meeting.
 
SHRM Fox Valley Chapter
The SHRM Fox Valley Chapter will focus on expanding a partnership with the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board and the Career Changers Network (CNN) in 2012. This focus will be on offering the Chick-fil-A Leadercast to spread awareness throughout the community by including community leaders, SHRM and CNN members. These job seekers from the CNN will benefit from a great opportunity for professional development at a time when they may not have discretionary finances to cover this. Funds will also cover marketing of this event which will help demonstrate a positive impression of FVSHRM within the greater business community.

FVSHRM Receives Distinguished Award - Wednesday, April 13, 2011

The Society for Human Resource Management has awarded the FVSHRM Chapter, the EXCEL Silver Award for 2010.  The SHRM Affiliate Program for Excellence (SHAPE) has been designed to ensure a strong connection between SHRM and our affiliated chapters from a business perspective.  In addition to clearly outlining SHRM's requirements to measure chapter alignment and engagement with SHRM’s overall objectives, SHAPE’s focus has shifted to activities and initiatives which are more strategic in nature.  These efforts will allow each affiliated chapter to increase its viability and effectiveness, as well as promote the HR profession at the local level.  Additionally, the program was designed to enhance the business acumen of our local volunteer leaders! This new program raises the bar of excellence for our affiliates and introduces the EXCEL Awards – a tiered recognition and awards system.

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management. The Society serves the needs of HR professionals and advances the interests of the HR profession. Founded in 1948, SHRM has more than 250,000 members in over 140 countries, and more than 575 affiliated chapters. “This recognition is a distinct indication of the chapter’s successful partnership with SHRM to serve the networking and professional development needs of human resource professionals and to the advancement of the human resources profession” noted Pamela J.
