Newsletter Committee
The Fox Valley SHRM quarterly electronic newsletter is a wonderful source of information for our chapter membership. The newsletter committee members assist in writing and editing new articles, designing the format and layout of the newsletter, and developing new ideas related to content. Each quarter a member of the committee is responsible for the quarterly “Member Spotlight” article. The time commitment for this committee is approximately 10 to 15 hours per quarter.
Programming Committee
Programming is the cornerstone of what Fox Valley SHRM offers to our members. The programming committee plans the monthly chapter meetings for the organization. The committee works on providing programs that will meet the needs of the chapter member based on feedback provided from member’s surveys. The committee meets on a monthly basis to coordinate their efforts for upcoming year.
Workshop Committee
As a value added service, Fox Valley SHRM offers quarterly workshops that are free to members. These workshops cover topics that are up and coming for the current year or are informational topics that lend themselves to a workshop rather than a regular meeting. The Workshop committee meets five times a year to brainstorm, plan, and implement the workshops.
Diversity Committee
Creating an inclusive work environment by respecting differences and developing the potential of all employees is a recognized competitive edge in today's market. The Diversity and Workforce Readiness Committee monitors and evaluates on a continuing basis local activities concerning diversity and workforce readiness issues. The committee shares information regarding successful programs in the local community, plans events and encourage chapter involvement. Time commitments range from one hour to fifteen hours depending on what your schedule will permit.
Golf Outing Committee
The annual Golf Outing and Steak dinner is a great opportunity for Fox Valley SHRM members to get together socially and have some fun. The Golf committee works with the golf course and caterers to ensure a successful event. Committee members work to ensure raffle prizes are available, golfers are paired up, and the event runs smoothly. Time commitment for this committee is primarily a month before the event up to the day of the event and can be dependent on the volunteer’s availability.
